Chicken Run

Alecia and Rod needed help killing their chickens last week. Mark and I thought it would be sweet to help them. It got a little intense, but I thought it was "sick" (cool) My mom thought it was sick as in "yuck". It got a little bloody but it didn't bother me much. We had to catch them all first and tie them to the fence.

After we cut the heads off, Rod dipped them into boiling water to help get the feathers off.

We then tied the chicken to a tree and pulled all the feathers out.

I guess YUK. Good for you to help. You know, that is really the way it was back in the olden days. I remember being at my grandmothers and I had just taken a bath and put on clean clothes. I had on white pants. My grandmother would just pick up a chicken and twist its head off and then throw it on the ground. It would run around and flip blood all over the place. Yeh, I got blood all over my pants.
